My babies and husband are a constant reminders of God's faithfulness!
Do you need daily reminders that everything is going to alright? I know I do!
I need daily reminders that everything will be alright and that the Lord is always with me! He reminds me through:
all of my children's development
through my interactions and great conversations with my husband
through the people that financially give to my family
through the studying of the Bible
through the scripture of the day with the Bible apps
through the teaching of Joyce Meyers Ministries
through the conversations I have with family and friends
through encouraging comments on Social Media
....................................and the list goes on!
He (God) has especially shown me things through Olivia's development!
Olivia has been a GREAT BLESSING IN MY LIFE! I never desired for her to have Down Syndrome, but God knew what my family and I needed! He has prepared me for her! I would not change my story! Having Olivia has taught me to trust the Lord more and more each day! Being a special needs parent can be challenging because you may not know what to expect (sounds like issues I deal with my other children), but it has been very rewarding!
So I do need daily reminders that Olivia will develop the way she needs to. This year, Olivia has accomplished a lot more than I expected and the Lord showed me through the things she has accomplished, that she will do well!
As I reflect on the past year, Olivia has done a lot:
* She has transitioned from the crib to the BIG GIRL BED! It only took her 1 day to transition, it took my oldest son, almost 4 months to transition! Go Olivia!!!
* She started to walk at 18 months and now she is running, stepping over things, jumping on a trampoline, riding a Pedalo (a stand bike) independently.
* She is becoming spatially away of her baby brother, Liam. Meaning she is learning to step around him and being aware that he exists. She also loves to play with her best friend, her oldest brother Alex.

* She had no interest in toys or pretend play, now she walks around the house (she even plays in her toy room) with her toys! She pretends she's playing in her kitchen, she puts on my husbands or her Wonder Woman shoes, and she even plays with the BABY DOLL !
* Olivia used to be fed directly with G-tube (fed through the stomach), but she decided to pull it out of her stomach this year! Now she is feeding only through her mouth! She also feeds herself.
* She is coloring a little.
* She knows most of her phonics sounds and letter recognition! She has a rug with the alphabets at daycare and she goes to each letter and makes the correct sound besides the letters - r,s, and t.
* She's climbing into the car.
* She is walking around to familiar places (we haven't really tried walking through stores yet, YIKES!).
* She is becoming a little more vocal (not as much as we would like, but she is getting there)! She is very strong in her sign language and visual cues! She can identify everyday objects on cards or in person, but she may not say them.
*She started to potty train (she would probably be fully potty trained if I or my husband was consistent). But at least she is letting us know that she went potty.
I can go on and on! Olivia is developing the way she needs to and I'm truly grateful for the people that helped play a role in her development! I can't wait to see how she grows as she turns 3 years old on January 2nd! "Thank you Lord" for a great year of development for Olivia! May she have another great year of learning and developing!
So YES I need daily reminders and I "thank God" that He gives me daily reminders that she will fine because she is fearfully and wonderfully made!
How does the Lord remind you daily that He everything will be alright?
*If you know anyone that has a child with special needs, please share this blog with them, you never know how it can encourage them!
