Olivia is 10 MONTHS OLD!
Can you believe it!!!!!! I can't! Olivia is getting real close to 1 year of age!
I know y'all having been waiting for an update on Olivia! So here it is!
Sorry for the late post! It has been a big transition having 2 children now, going back to teaching full time, being a wife, doctor's appointments, and the list goes on! But I realize that my heart and soul is in this blog, so that is why I'm posting another post!
So Ms. Olivia is such a joyful baby! She is always happy and she is becoming more sociable! She loves to be tickled, so she can get her gummy laugh out! She brings so much joy in our family! With the help of her physical therapist, Olivia is now sitting up from 30 seconds to 2 seconds per time period. That is definitely a PRAISE REPORT because it can be difficult to see people in her class that is developing a lot more faster than Olivia.

At times it can be a struggle because I want Olivia to develop as quickly as her classmates, but I'm reminded that the Lord made her who she is and she will develop the way she needs to in her own timing (not saying that she is any less than the rest of her classmates). It sometimes just tears me up and I have to leave immediately out of the room when the moms start talking about how there child is developing. But I'm getting stronger and stronger every day.
But anyways, Olivia is now feeding herself as well as grabbing for things (like my earrings, Oww!!). Lastly she loves to roll everywhere and she loves to be cuddled!
My son, Alex, just adores Olivia! He looks for her every morning that he gets up, he sings to her, he plays with her, he purees any of her food after I cook it, he consoles her, and he tries to feed her! I'm so glad they have this bond at such a young age! He always wants to take pictures with her and interact with her! What a blessing!
The reality of taking care of special needs kids is hitting me more and more each day! Olivia probably has about 10 or more doctors/therapists that I need to keep track of. And let's not talk about all of the paperwork! Olivia has had multiple doctors appointments due to the fact that she struggles to take down liquids with the formula. She even struggles to take down Pedialyte. Every time she has a bottle, she spits most of it up; therefore, Ms. Olivia is still 11 pounds (she was 6 pounds at birth).

So this issue has brought a lot of worries and concerns on our part as well as the doctors. We know she has Non-Acid Reflux, but she is not gaining even with the solids she gets on a consistent basis. The physical therapist says if she gets the nutrition that she needs, she would develop a lot quicker. This situation has really kept my family humble and has kept us going to the Lord on her behalf. I'm very hopeful that the Lord will provide Olivia with the nutrients she needs to develop.
Overall, Olivia is my girl and she brings me so much joy! I thank the Lord for her everyday! I ask that you pray for her development just like any other child! I also want to "thank" everyone that has been supportive of me and my family during this transition in our lives! We love you guys!
