So my husband and I recently celebrated 8 years of marriage! WOOHOO! DON'T WE LOOK GREAT IN THIS PICTURE! These 8 years feel like 20 or more years because we are constantly around each other and we have gone through many transitions together.
When you are married for that long of a period (some people think this is a short period of time, but this is a long time for me) you tend to get very comfortable in your marriage. Things tend to be routine and some efforts that were made at the beginning of the marriage are SOMEWHAT lost (this may not be you, but this is my husband and I).
It isn't just my husband and I anymore, but it's my husband, my son, my daughter, my dog, and I. We have grown as a family. So certain things become lost like my husband and I spending time together because our time has to be shared in cultivating our family.
SO WHAT DO YOU DO TO SPICE UP YOUR TIME TOGETHER?!
If you know my husband and I, I'm an introverted person that loves my personal time away from people and my husband is the opposite where he is a movie loving, lover of people, extroverted person. To relax my husband loves to read comics, play video games, COOK, and watch Youtube videos; whereas, I love to sew, create cards, paint, quilt, COOK, and watch TV to relax. You can tell in this picture!

MY HUSBAND POSING FOR THE CAMERA
As my husband and I reevaluated certain aspects of our marriage and what our strengths and weaknesses were as a couple, my husband and I agreed that we don't enjoy many things together. There aren't many things we can do together that brings us joy besides going to the movies, talking about Jesus, and going to the same restaurants. We are not a couple that travels together often besides visiting family or even working out together.
So we spent many months trying to figure out what we can enjoy together. When my husband's birthday came up in February of 2016, we finally came to a conclusion about what we like to do together and that is EAT and visit different Bed and Breakfast!!
So HOW DO YOU COMBINE THE TWO?!
So our goals this year is to add more date night/days and travel to various restaurants throughout Maryland. A lot of times we would be comfortable going to the same restaurant, so we wanted to switch that up this year! So far we have enjoyed every bit of our adventure and it has sparked great conversations.
Sometimes we get lost when we have children, now it's time for my husband and I to take more of our time with each other. If we aren't strong, then what positive influence will we have for our children lives as far as what a healthy marriage looks like.
So for the anniversary my husband surprised me with the places we would go and stay and I took the role to do all of the surprises on his birthday. We had amazing food from different restaurants all day long. I was in HEAVEN! We went to an amazing Bed and Breakfast GranMercy Manor in Baltimore County, Maryland. The breakfast was so memorable! We also went to Pappas Restaurant & Seafood. Then we went to an upscale restaurant, Tark's Grill at the Station, they had the best Risotto balls (too bad I could only eat a little because my Acid Reflux was acting up).

Breakfast at Granmercy Manor (the breakfast was amazing, especially the Egg White Omelette with Spinach and Feta Cheese)
So now that we are DROOLING OR EXTREMELY HUNGRY! The question I have for you is, "How do you and your spouse like to spend time together (besides the hanky panky)?" Share with me below.
It is always great to revive your marriage as much as possible. Keep the spark going! Ultimately I love and cherish my husband! He is a wonderful Man of God that has such a compassionate heart for Jesus and people! He has so much joy and such a great personality that people love! I would not trade him for the world! I'm thankful that Lord brought him in my life! We have grown and learned so much from each other and I pray we could continue to look towards the Lord for guidance for the rest of our lives together! I LOVE YOU Joel!
